My Space Trip Ends
June 25th, 2009
Right now the space shuttle is between the planets Earth and Venus. I have been in space for three days and we have to get back because 1. Mars as we found out is one year away from us and 2. we are running out of oxygen. so we have decided that we are going to return to Earth tomorrow and leave the Mars Exploration Rover-A to die.
June 26th, 2009
We are almost in Earths atmosphere and will have to be careful where we land because we left from America and we are going to land in kazakhstan.We all ran to go into our seats and get ready for landing. It took ten minutes to get through the atmosphere and then the Earths surface got closer and closer and then I shut eyes.
Then I heard "prepare for landing everyone!" and then we were hurtling back to Earth and it looked as if we were going to crash right into the landing site! and then there was a huge BUMP! and then we were on the Earth safe and unharmed and we would be home in just a few hours. We would be eating goodies and watching a DVD.

The Beautiful Blue Planet

from inside the space shuttle I could only see black emptiness but right in the middle of that black emptiness I could see a beautiful amazing blue planet, it looked magnificent. I was completely mesmorized. suddenly the shuttle bumped into something hard and turned direction, we soon found out that we hit a gigantic asteroid and that we were heading back to earth but we were turning so slowly so that you couldn't even feel it. I am connecting 20 marbles together and it's quite fascinating because they all stay stuck together in the air because they are weightless.

Sleeping is very uncomfortable and the food is pretty disgusting, but as clean as a whistle. we bought so much food with us so that we wouldn't starve. we are still heading for Mars but it will take a lot longer than we thought it would. Right now I am looking at passing asteroid and eating a cucumber which was dried up and sealed in air proof plastic bag. It is so fun floating but you have to be careful.

We have been in the space shuttle for three days already. There is no sign of Mars and I very bored and will probably die because of all the work and exercise I took about 100 pictures of Earth and so did my colleagues. We enjoyed the view then we turned around headed to Mars then I fell asleep by accident and hit a switch in the space shuttle.

The day I was waiting for
June 21st, 2009
Today is the day I will go to space. I had to wake up at 07:00 and then had to say goodbye to my lovely and adorable dog, then I had to drive for four hours till I got to the launching site, I arrived there at 11:00. then my launching manager, Jake Mays told me to go into a room which was on his left. I waited for a few minutes in the room and had some chocolate which was nicely laid out on a china plate. Then had a little nap on the chair.
"wake up" someone said, then the person shook me and then I came back to my senses and I realized that I was in the room with the chocolate and that I was at the launching site and that I was going to fix the Mars Exploration Rover-A. In about half an hour I was all dressed in my space suit, it was very itchy and I had to wear about six layers of clothes. I got very hot. we get about seven hours of oxygen and then we go to the space shuttle we go up a on a elevator, then we go on to a small bridge and cross it to get in to the shuttle.
when we were all comfortably in the shuttle then we put on our seat belts and got ready for lift off. one of my colleagues' seat belt didn't want to click and I heard him say " this seat belt is as stubborn as a mule." Then after a few minutes of struggling he finally he got it in and then we were ready for lift off. 10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1 LIFT OFF! then I felt a huge push and we were blasted off in to space.

My Mission to Fix spirit (MER-A)

Hello my name is Nichole Jackson. I am an astronaut. on the 21st of June I will go and try and fix spirit, the Mars exploration Rover-A. It will probably be impossible because we don't have the technology yet, but my colleagues are sure that we can fix it. I am very excited and will probably be bouncing off the walls.
June the 21st is very close and soon I will be in a space shuttle for 5 days and will be writing about my daily life in space so my parents and my friends can read what it feels like. I will be with all my colleagues in the space shuttle. We will be eating food from tins and and from vacuumed packets. for the first few minutes we will be lying down in the nose of the shuttle and then we will go through the atmosphere and then we will float for the rest of the journey.
I am so excited and I am practically screaming out of joy. Right now I am sitting in front of the Mac book eating Nerds and pringles. I will go on Facebook to chat to my colleagues about what is going to happen before we go away to space. I just left the Mac book and will now go and play with the dog.
